Bowen Technique

Bowen Technique is a no-nonsense, remedial therapy that is non-intrusive, gentle and a very effective treatment, created by an Australian man called Thomas Ambrose Bowen in the mid 20th century.

It is a safe treatment for all ages.

In some cases it works where other therapies have failed.

It is particularly good for asthma and respiratory challenges, frozen shoulder, sciatica, Fibromyalgia, colic and many other issues or just to enjoy the relaxation it gives.

Bowen Technique is a unique, hands-on, all body treatment, promoting healing, well being, pain relief and is a re-energising therapy.

The treatment lasts about 45-50 mins depending on the issues. It can be performed through light clothing with initially 3 treatments at weekly intervals. Sometimes these treatments are enough to sort the issue and then, if needed, progress to a maintenance plan. It is  not advisable to mix Bowen with other therapies such as Physiotherapy or Osteopathic treatments.

How does it Work?

The Practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise points on the body to make rolling moves which aim to disturb the muscles, soft tissues and energy within the body. During the treatment there are times when the client is left resting to allow the body to absorb the gentle moves that have been performed and allows the body time to make fine adjustments to relieve tension, reduce pain and start the healing process.

With Bowen Technique there is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and it is not a form of massage.
